My Dream Matchbox Home
– A Paper Sculpture Workshop with Cheryl Teo
A paper sculpture of a reading nook that participants will be creating in this workshop.
Design and create your dream matchbox home with artist Cheryl Teo. Explore the fundamental techniques behind the art of paper craft, get creative and put your own spin on your own miniature reading nook or space in this paper sculpture workshop!
As this workshop is designed for adults, participants should be comfortable working with a penknife. Demonstrations and practice guide sheets will be provided at the beginning of the class to allow participants to get comfortable cutting different shapes. Each participant will have access to the right tools, materials, and techniques to create their very own matchbox paper sculpture.
In this workshop, participants will:
• Explore the fundamental techniques behind the art of paper craft.
• Understand the nature of paper and how to work with it.
• Learn how to work with precision and intricate details using proper paper cutting tools.
• Be guided with practical insights and pre-designed templates to create a miniature paper sculpture.
My Dream Matchbox Home – A Paper Sculpture Workshop is part of the programming for the exhibition, Superfluous Things: Paper.
