Yellow Ribbon Community Art Exhibition 2018: Transitions, Crossroads & Choices
The Yellow Ribbon Community Art Exhibition is an annual exhibition jointly organised by the Yellow Ribbon Project and the Singapore Art Museum (SAM) to provide prison inmates with a platform to express their hopes, dreams and aspirations through contemporary artworks.
This year's theme is Transitions: Crossroads & Choices, which speaks to the individual struggles that the participating inmates face in their own rehabilitative journeys. Through their works, visitors will be able to empathise with their past struggles and mistakes, connect with their desire for acceptance and reintegration, and support their hopes for the future. A total of 78 artworks by inmate artists from the Visual Arts Hub, Changi Prison Complex and Institution A4 will be on view at the exhibition.
