THE ROLE
SAM is offering a seasoned fundraiser the unique opportunity to contribute to our development efforts for the long-term sustainability of the museum. You will need to possess a proven track record, demonstrate a robust network, and exhibit strong acumen to raise significant funds for SAM’s operations and expansion. You will work closely with a small but dynamic Partnership & Patronage (P&P) team to cultivate and provide stewardship of corporate and individual partners including donors, sponsors and patrons. Only suitable and serious applicants will be shortlisted through a written assignment.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The incumbent will be the main officer in charge of these functions but will be supported by existing team members.
Secure major gifts for SAM
Manage the Annual Giving Patrons’ Programme

Source and cultivate patrons for SAM’s annual giving programme

Effectively steward patrons to secure patron retention and renewal

Develop hosting opportunities to engage existing and potential patrons

Organise overseas patron trips to key international art events once every two years

Leverage established personal networks to expand SAM’s patrons database
General Administration and Communications

Manage regular and necessary paperwork including preparing weekly meetings and reports, contracts, appreciation letters, eDMs, impact reports and quotations

Maintain and update of databases and donation portals

Observe due procurement processes to ensure necessary paperwork is submitted to finance department to process all incoming monies and to generate tax relief receipts

Act as Secretariat to Development Committee: Participate and assist in the thrice-yearly Development Committee meetings through preparing meeting agenda and minutes

Conceptualize effective and innovative fundraising campaigns

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Degree holder with relevant experience in development, fundraising, sponsorship or donor relations

Excellent communicator (both verbal and written) with intuitive interpersonal skills

Well-organised, with strong process management skills and the ability to prioritise

A team player, empathetic, outgoing and personable, adept in different social settings and able to network effectively

Has a positive attitude, is resilient, resourceful and willing to learn

Driven, goal-oriented self-starter who can learn and adapt quickly and work industriously under minimal supervision

Ability to project manage several projects simultaneously and meet firm deadlines under pressure

Strong planning and critical-thinking abilities

Proficient at Excel and PowerPoint and able to efficiently manage databases

Wide network of appropriate contacts
