KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Research and contribute to scholarship on contemporary visual art and design, with a focus on interdisciplinary practices and discourses within local and global contexts.
- Contribute to institutional goals and policies of collection building and access (including development of a digital platform) to enrich and extend knowledge on design in art.
- Curate collaborative and cross-disciplinary projects and programmes, from conceptualisation, negotiations with artists, designers, external institutions and stakeholders, to the co-ordination of production.
- Demonstrate thought leadership in the field through sharing of knowledge at conferences, talks and in publishing.
- Foster professional networks with contemporary artists, design communities and partners.
- Work closely and collaboratively with collections managers, conservators and colleagues in collection development and preservation
- Manage, supervise and administer projects, processes and procedures under his/her responsibility.
- Handle ad-hoc assignments as and when required.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Graduate or post-graduate degree in contemporary art, graphic design, media or related fields.
- At least five years’ of relevant research and experience in curation, collections and exhibitions.
- Strong interest in and specialized knowledge of contemporary art and design practices in Singapore and Asia.
- Excellent research, writing, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Fluency in English. Additional language abilities would be ideal.
- Good project management and organisational skills.
- Attentive to details and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
