Artist Residency || 01 Oct to 31 Dec 2026
Intizor Otaniyozova explores themes of identity, ecology, feminism and Beyoncé. Through her writing, performances and films, she reflects upon gestures of the everyday as sites of interrogation to counter social structures and constructs that instruct the experience of daily life. Her debut feature-length documentary film Ashes to Ashes, Dust to Side Chicks details the experiences laden in growing up in the complexities of Central Asia.
While in residence, Intizor will expand her research around the notion of statelessness through geopolitical connections pertaining to the ongoing genocide of Uyghurs in China. Her work will delve into video and installation. At the same time, she intends to experiment with standup comedy to engage a wider public.
