Artist Residency || 01 Oct to 31 Dec 2026
Josefina Paz’s practice takes off from the tensions of border-territory and identity-migration. Working across drawing, writing, textile, sound, installation and performance, her research is influenced by the practices of cartography, musical language and methods of relational communication and knowledge production. Consequently, Josefina’s working methodology is shaped by the ontology of sound and of movement, nurturing gestures of attention, care and repetition.
While in residence, Josefina will explore “errantry thinking,” a concept put forth by Édouard Glissant. She intends to experiment with improvisation as a way to foster cognitive flexibility—that which is needed to relate outside oneself but is sometimes lost in translation.
