PG Lee works with sculpture and examines the temporal nature of (human) existence and its instinctive yet absurd need for extension or transcendence. By exploring man’s interaction with nature, PG’s work aims to shed light on the primordial yet brutal strategies of self-preservation. He works mainly the mediums of sculpture and installation.

While in residence, PG will explore the history of horticulture, environmental planning and landscaping in Singapore. The research will be guided by a focus on how approaches to gardening and greening entangle with measures of urban governance whereby ‘strategies of containment’ or, the management of undesirable invasive weed species comes to take on magical, material and mundane significance.
