Sorawit SONGSATAYA works across sculpture, ceramic, textile, moving images and 3D animation. Acknowledging Te Ao Māori and Thai belief systems, Sorawit explores ideas rooted in geological, ecological and cultural histories to redefine our understanding of subjectivity and ecology.

While in residence, Sorawit will experiment with sonic arrangements to develop a series of voice recordings, building a small, temporal archive of transwomen’s voices. To complement these recordings, Sorawait plans to explore 3D reconstructed surfaces of Singapore’s urban buildings through photogrammetric processes to weave in these voices into the city’s fabric.
