Along with artist Robert Zhao and conservation biologist Yong Ding Li, explore the main site for research and filming for Seeing Forest at Gillman Barracks.

During this session you will have the chance to engage in conversations about a side of Singapore’s urban landscape that is largely unknown and unexplored. You will also learn how to identify migratory species and hear about the ecologies within secondary forests. The walk will explore several elements of Zhao’s Seeing Forest, and how an isolated patch of secondary forest provided the setting and basis for this exhibit. Participants will learn about plant and wildlife species at Gillman Forest—which is surprisingly rich in history and nature—while observing some of the species featured in the work.
